Painting with coffee

Painting with kids : Coffee Painting

As the name states,we used coffee as our medium. Not only is it easy, the end result was very satisfactory. My seven year old was very happy about her creations! Not only is coffee painting fun to create, it also smells good 🙂

Simple coffee painting idea

Materials needed to create coffee painting :

 1. Concentrated Coffee
2. Card stock or copier paper ( we used copier paper)
3. Paint brushes
4. Pencil
Procedure

1. Trace a picture onto a piece of paper with a pencil. You can also try to free hand it.
2. Then, retrace the outline of the picture with coffee using a thin paint brush
3.  For the inside of the painting, we added a little bit of water to the coffee. This was to make it less concentrated, therefore making it lighter. Paint the inside picture with the lighter shade of coffee. Then, let the painting dry.

4. After it’s dried, go back and paint in places where more shading is required.

Not only was this painting simple, it also looks fabulous!

  1. This sounds very neat! What kind of coffee did you use? How did you concentrate it?
I just came across your site via Pinterest and I love all your arty posts 🙂

    1. Thanks for your very nice comment. I used instant coffee. Added less water to have a concentrated coffee. Hope I answered your questions!
