Easter activity ideas for toddlers

Egg printing

Hi Everyone,
We did the classic printing technique. Some techniques are enjoyable from toddlers to adults and surely printing is one of them. I thought my seven year old may not be interested in  printing. I was wrong! In fact  she added her own style to the process.
Materials Needed:

1. Potato

2. Tempera Paint

Method:

Cut the potato. Dip it in the paint.  Press the painted potato in the paper. Lift the potato. Did I mention it was so simple for my toddler too?

I usually start with one color for my toddler. If I give her more than one color, she concentrates on choosing the color rather than doing the work 🙂

It was difficult for her at the beginning to lift the potato without shaking. Without any instructions or directions from us, she started to get it after few times.

When she insisted for the second color, I gave her red.

But she wanted purple!

My elder one, painted the potato with brush, drew few designs in the potato with a tooth pick and tried printing it. She could not get the design in paper. But the combination of 2 colors was beautiful.

Since she could not get the design, she made patterning with the colors when painting in the potato.

This simple activity kept them engaged for a long time! Even after the elder one started to wind up, the younger one was asking for more colors and printing again and again. This is not the usual scenario in our house as she always follows her big sister. I think she thoroughly enjoyed!

Thanks for reading the post. You may be interested in other these toddler activities too.

Happy Printing!
