Kandinsky is a well known artist. Inspired by Kandinsky circles, I created this matching activity for my toddler. She is in a stage where she loves all types of matching activities.

Materials needed:
2. Circle templates in 3 sizes
I used three different size bottle lids as my templates and cut out three different size circles in each color from felt.
We started with color matching. I placed the big circles on the felt “mat” and middle & small circles in two separate bowls. I gave her the middle circles bowl and asked her to match the circles by color. Once she completed that, I gave her the small circles.
After few days of color matching, we moved on to number matching. I wrote numbers in the masking tape with Sharpie and stuck them to the felt circles. I chose all the three sizes in different colors for each number. So, each number had 3 different sized circles in different colors.
Again I placed the big circles on the mat and asked my daughter to match using the numbers written on the felt. I was little concerned that my daughter might confuse number matching with color matching. But she got it and started matching. I had to remind her on some occasions though.
I can easily remove the masking tape and reuse the circles. I can write alphabets on the masking tape to do alphabet matching or separate the pieces by size or do patterning etc. The options are endless here.
I am happy that my daughter wants to repeat two to three times every single time she picks. Moreover I can reuse the circles for many other activities.
