Materials needed :
3. Paint brush
Crayola watercolors box had 8 colors. I had to restrict my daughter to paint with only two colors which might not be encouraging for her. Luckily both green and blue were next to each other and I covered all other colors with paper and tape. My daughter did not mind those colors and stuck with blue and green. Yay!
I showed the paper in running water for twenty to thirty seconds. The paper was completely wet. Just dipped the brush in water and asked her to paint with blue. The water in the paper and brush was enough for her to paint. She did not use any other water.
She almost covered the paper with blue which surprised me (again). I changed her brush because she needed water. I dipped the second brush in the water and then she started with green. She covered her blue with green. It would have been better if green was her and there. But I did not want to stop and discourage her. She painted with green till she got satisfied.
We let the paint to dry which took nearly thirty minutes for us. Used a side plate as template and cut out the Earth. She says it as “Eerth”
It is a super simple and easy project. But it gave my daughter an introduction to watercolor and of course, Earth! She did really surprise me by coloring the entire paper.
