Materials needed :
1. Cardstock or any thick paper
2. Crayons
3. Black tempera paint
4. Pushpin or toothpick
Method:
1. Color the entire cardstock with different colors of crayons. My toddler wanted to join the fun too! She did markings with the black crayon.
2. Paint the entire paper with black paint. Let the paint dry.
3. Using a toothpick or pushpin, draw fireworks. The colored crayon will pop up creating dramatic effect. We used acrylic paint which peeled at some places. We had used tempera paint previously which worked fine. We will stick with tempera paint hereafter.
It is such a simple project but the result is astonishing. Since we had done a similar project, my daughter was able to do everything from the start to the end without requiring any instructions.
