Materials needed:Β
1. Empty pringles box
2. Construction paper – Yellow, pink, brown and creme
3. Black Sharpie
4. Scissors
5. Glue – We used Elmer glue all
Method:
1.Cover the box with construction paper. We started with yellow paper. The paper was not sufficient to cover the entire box. We left the uncovered part at the bottom as pink paper will cover at the next step.
2. Cover the bottom part of the box with pink paper. We did not measure the paper. The length of the eraser was around 4 inches.
3. Glue the creme paper over the line made by the pink and yellow paper. The body of the pencil is done!
4. Now to the top (lead portion) of the pencil. We needed a cone shape to look like a sharped lead. To make a cone, we traced a birthday hat temple around the brown paper and cut it out.
5. As the lid was smaller than the template’s cone, I trimmed along the sides of the template till it fitted the lid. Glued the lid to the brown paper.
6. Colored the tip of the cone with the black sharpie to make the lead.
7. Close the lid. The gigantic pencil is done!
We are yet the fill the box with goodies. We may fill it with candies and chocolates!
We are so happy about how the pencil turned out!
