Aluminium foil flying heart

Aluminium foil hearts

Aluminium foil is one of our favorite mediums to work with. In our house, it is used more for arts and crafts than in the kitchen. We have done various projects like Aluminium foil stained glass painting, Aluminium foil jewelry, Aluminium foil flower art, Aluminium foil heart  in the past. This time we created a flying heart art with Aluminium foil.

Materials needed:

1. Black construction paper
2. Aluminium foil
3. Scissors
4. Pencil
5. School glue
Method :

1. Cut out a strip of aluminium foil. Fold them five to six times. Draw heart at the folded square with the pencil and cut out hearts. Folding the foil will help us to cut hearts with the same size easily.

2. Repeat step one for different sizes of the heart. We created four different sized hearts.

3. Arrange the hearts in the black construction paper like you want.

4. Glue the hearts to the paper.

Though we arranged the hearts in the paper before gluing, after gluing my daughter felt that two hearts are not in the correct position. We removed them.

Cutting hearts from the foil took us more time than expected. More smaller the size the more difficult it was to cut. My daughter needed help for cutting as she was not getting the correct shape for small hearts!

The shinning foil on the black construction paper creates a beautiful art!
