My preschooler loves sorting. We made a beautiful flower suncatcher for spring! I sneaked her favorite sorting technique in that.
Materials needed: (affiliation link)
1. Contact paper
2. Colored tissue paper
4. Scissors
5. Tape
Method:
1. Select 5 construction papers in the same colors as tissue papers in hand.
2. Draw petals in the selected construction papers. Cut them out.
3. Draw a small petal inside the petal and cut it out.
4. Cut a small circle out of the yellow construction paper.
5. Attach the contact paper to the window with the sticky side facing the child with a piece of tape.
6. Stick the flower petals to the contact paper. The width of the contact paper was small for our flower. But that did not bother my daughter.
7. Invite the child to tear the tissue paper.
8. Talk about sticking the same color inside the petal. She took it from there.
When the tissue paper came out of the petal, she removed it, made it small and pasted again.
Once she finished, I covered with another contact paper.
Color sorting activity has created a beautiful window creation for Spring! What do you think? Isn’t beautiful?
