I had posted about my preschooler’s tie card for her father. My nine year old wanted to make one for the father’s day. As the father likes cricket very much, we made a cricket ball using paper mache and created a “ball” card!
Materials needed:
1. An object to create ball shape – We used plastic Easter egg
2. Newspaper
3. Glue
4. Acrylic paint
Method:
1. We used plastic Easter egg to make the ball. Though I call it as a ball, as it is pasted on the card, we need only semi circle.
2. We tore the newspaper into manageable bits. Glued the paper on the small half of the egg. We completely covered it with at least 3 layers of paper.
3. Once dry, we could easily remove the paper from the egg. It was like a small bowl.
4. Painted the bowl red with acrylic paint and drew three lines in white to make it look like a cricket ball.
5. Folded the copier paper in half. Pasted the ball in it and wrote the message.
This father’s day card took us a long time to make because of the drying time. But it was fun to make.
