We had 6 inches of snow yesterday morning and the kids had nice time playing in the snow. My preschooler had a lot of questions about snow. We painted the paper snowflakes in the evening as our snowy day craft activity. It is one of the simplest winter craft ideas we have done at our home.

Materials required to do this Snowflakes painting
- Printer paper – Printer paper is for making the snowflakes. My ten year old made snowflakes after watching these youtube videos – Video 1 and Video 2. However store brought snowflake cutouts can also be used.
- Do A Dot markers
Method:
1. Make Snowflakes out of printer paper. If you would like to use cutouts, snowflake cutouts are available here.
2. Keep the Snowflake on top of another printer paper.
3. Dab the Do A Dot markers on the snowflakes.
4. Completely cover the snowflakes with the marker. My preschooler enjoyed painting the snowflakes.
5. Remove the painted snowflakes slowly. My daughter could not wait for it to dry. We removed the snowflakes immediately. They came out fine.
6. The paper underneath was painted beautifully too which I was not expecting. It was a bonus!
7. Let the snowflakes and the paper dry. Decorate your house with painted snowflakes and frame the snowflakes printed in the paper.
As I mentioned, it is one of the simplest winter crafts that can be enjoyed by kids of all ages. What do you think of our painted snowflakes?
