Indian republic day is on January 26th. This Indian flag painting activity is one of the last minute and simple Indian Republic day crafts for kids. Indian flag has 3 colors – Orange, White and Green with a wheel at the middle.
Materials used for Indian flag painting:
- Washable tempera paint in 2 colors – Orange and Green
- Blue construction paper
- Black marker
- Paint brush
- Printer paper
- Child safe scissors
- School glue
Method:
- My preschooler painted 1/3 of the printer paper with orange color.
- She left the middle as it was and painted the bottom paper with green color.
- I drew a circle in blue construction paper. My preschooler cut the circle out. This is the wheel in the flag
- My preschooler drew lines inside the blue circle with black marker.
- She pasted the blue circle in the middle unpainted white portion with school glue.
- We let our painting dry.
- I drew a heart shape in another printer paper.
- My daughter cut out the inside of the heart shape. So the white paper would have a heart shaped hole.
- She pasted the white paper with the heart shaped hole on the painting with school glue.
Indian flag painting is done!
Other than drawing few shapes, my daughter did the entire painting. We talked about the significance of each color in the flag. As I mentioned, it is a simple Indian Republic day craft idea for kids.
