We made an easy watercolor contact paper flower using watercolor resist technique. I asked my preschooler to list people whom she loves the most. She came up with a very big list. As most of them were friends, we categorized them under friends. At the end, we had 6 people in the list. We made a flower with 6 petals, one petal for each people she loved.
Easy Watercolor idea!

3. Watercolor paper
4. Brush
5. Marker
Method:
- My preschooler had 6 people in her list. I had asked her to list only people. I should have asked her to list pets and things too.
- As there were 6 people in her list, I drew 6 heart shapes at the back of the contact paper. I cut them out.
- I pasted the heart petals on the watercolor paper. Since there were 6 petals, I arranged the petals like a flower. If there are more hearts (if the child likes more things or people), the hearts can be arranged like flying hearts like we did in our aluminium foil flying heart project.
- My preschooler painted on the entire watercolor paper.
- Once the entire paper was painted, we let our painting dry.
- We removed the contact paper. Contact paper had resisted the paint creating a beautiful flower.
- My preschooler wrote the people in each petal with marker.
Our favorite people flower is done! My preschool and I were discussing the reason why she loved them. It was fun. What do you think about our flower?
