Studies have shown that doodling helps to plan, multitask and concentrate. When I do some crafts with my ten year old, she talks freely about many things. I believe crafts relax her. Doodling is one of them. Over the last weekend, we made a heart doodling with watercolor.
Heart doodling with watercolor!
Materials needed for this heart doodling:
- Crayons
- Watercolors
- Watercolor paper
- Brushes or Spray bottles
Method:
- We drew a heart in the watercolor paper with crayon.
- Drew or in other words doodled various designs inside and outside the heart with crayons. We used randoms colors and designs to fill the heart. There are no rules here.
- Once the heart was completed filled with crayon design, we painted the entire paper with watercolors. We used liquid watercolors and sprayed them. Any type of watercolors would work fine.
Heart doodling with watercolor art is done!
A word of caution : Cover your work area if you are using spray bottles indoors. See how messy it was! In other words, how much fun we had had 🙂
It is simple but relaxing. We could have stopped with crayon doodling too. But my daughter wanted to use watercolors.
