We tried painting dandelions with kitchen scrubber. Stainless steel scrub pad is one of our most loved painting tools. We had painted wreath and snowman using scrubber. Scrubber did not disappoint us this time too. It created a beautiful dandelion painting.
Painting dandelions!
Materials needed for this dandelions painting:
Affiliation links are used in the post.
- Metal scouring pads
- Washable tempera paint
- Acrylic paint
- Brush
- Drawing pad
- Sharpie in green color
Method to paint dandelions:
- We poured the blue acrylic paint on a wide pan. Added few drops of white paint on it. Did not mix the two paints thoroughly. The two colors were visible in the paint mixture.
- Painted a sheet of drawing paper with the paint mixture using a brush. The drawing pad is little thicker than the normal printer paper. I wanted the paper to be little steady as we would be painting the entire sheet with acrylic paint.
- We did not let the paint dry. Poured the white washable tempera paint in the pan. Took a bit of white paint in the kitchen scouring pad and dabbed it in the painted paper. We maintained the circle shape as much as possible. Took more paint in the scouring pad if needed.
- Painted few white circles. Dabbed few times near the circles to create the flying effect.
- We let the painting dry completely. Drew the stems with the green sharpie.
Isn’t painting dandelions simple? I believe scouring pad creates beautiful art every time. What do you think of our dandelions?
