I had shared about Leprechaun’s sight words matching game. Today I am sharing about Leprechaun’s hat Popsicle sticks puzzle. My preschooler enjoyed this classic idea. My ten year old made the puzzle for her sister. She was delighted to watch her sister play with the puzzle.
Popsicle sticks puzzle!
Materials needed to make this puzzle:
- Popsicle sticks otherwise known as craft sticks
- Acrylic paint
- Tape
- Permanent marker
- Paint brush
- Pencil
Method:
- Line up ten craft sticks one below the other. My daughter had twelve sticks but she had not used the last two sticks. Connect them all using pieces of tape. Tape holds the sticks together when we draw the hat.
- Turn the sticks over so that the tapes are at the back. Draw the hat with pencil. My daughter had drawn free hand. But templates can be used too.
- Trace the outline with the marker.
- Paint inside and outside of the hat with acrylic paint. She had painted the belt and Shamrock with marker. I really don’t know the reason 🙂
- Let the sticks dry completely.
- Remove the tape.
- The child can use the sticks as puzzle and recreate the picture.
I had seen a lot of craft sticks puzzles in Pinterest. My ten year old was able to make the puzzle for her sister without any assistance from me. Both of them were happy.
