Step 1 : Draw and cut out circles from the milk jug. We used a lid from a bottle as our template. It was very difficult to cut a proper circle directly from the jug. I used the knife to cut an uneven circle from the jug. My daughter used scissors to make it a proper circle.
Step 2 : Color the circles with the acrylic paint. We used 2 colors – Red and Pink.
The red coated the circles easily. But the pink was resisting and created beautiful designs.
Let the circles dry. It took nearly 30 minutes to dry completely.
Step 3: Cut eight even slits in the circle. Start cutting towards the center but not till the center. In that way we can make sure that we are not separating the pieces. These are the petals.
I thought of cutting out individual tear drop shaped petals from the milk jug. But considering my daughter’s age, I changed to cut out the circles and make petals like this.
Step 4: Fold alternate petals inside towards the center and crease. Now the circle will look like a flower.
That’s awesome Dhiyana,,looking so pretty 🙂
Thanks Grace!
