Today, I am sharing a very simple Christmas card idea for kids. As my preschooler wanted to give cards to all the teachers in her preschool, I wanted the idea to suit my preschooler too. This idea is very simple and creates a batch of cards in one shot. This painting idea is inspired by Eric Carle. My daughter loves all his books and The Very Hungry Caterpillar and The Tiny Seed are her favorites.

Materials needed for this simple Christmas card idea for kids:
- Card Stock
- Printer paper
- Tempera paint
- Small objects to create shapes in the picture
- Child safe scissors
- School glue
Method
1.Let the preschooler paint the entire printer paper with one or more tempera paints. As I was planning for a Christmas tree, I gave only green and black paints to my daughter.
2. When the paint is still wet, make designs in the painted paper. We used straws to keep dots, toilet roll to draw bigger circles, back of the paint brush to draw lines, figures to draw circles etc. This painting can’t go wrong. So kids can do whatever they want to do.
As pink is my daughter’s favorite color, she wanted to color a paper in pink too. It works for me too.
3. Let the painting dry.
4. On the back of the painting, I drew Christmas tree. Handled over the painted paper to my daughter for cutting the tree with the child safe scissor. She did a pretty good cutting job.
5. We pasted the Christmas tree on the card stock with the school glue.
The Christmas cards are ready. I will make my daughter write Merry Christmas inside the card.
This Christmas card idea for kids can’t go wrong anywhere which is a plus with preschoolers.
