Material required to make this simple snowman painting
- Contact paper
- Watercolor paper
- Liquid Watercolors or watercolor pan
- Spray bottles or paint brushes
- Marker
- Child safe scissors
- Sequins (Optional)
- Googly eyes (Optional)
- School glue (Optional)
- Salt(Optional)
Method:
- I covered my work area first. I drew three circles at the back of the contact paper with a marker. Used different sized lids to draw the circles and drew two rectangles for the hands. I forgot to draw the hat. 🙁
- My daughter cut them out using a child safe scissors.
- She pasted the contact paper circles on the watercolor paper. She arranged the circles in the order of small to big.
- Spray painted the entire paper with liquid water color paint. We did not wet our paper before painting. Any type of watercolor paint can be used. But we love liquid watercolors. They are bright and vibrant. But messy if used indoors with spray bottles.
- My daughter dropped salt over the painting when it was still wet. This step is completely optional.
- She could not wait to remove the contact paper from the water color paper. We did not wait for the paint to dry.
- We removed the contact paper. It had resisted the paint.
- She decorated the snowman with sequins and googly eyes. She did not want to add scarf or hat. So here he is, with basic decoration.
Don’t you agree that this painting is very simple?
