Materials needed:
1. Vegetable mesh bag
2. Two bowls
3. Beans
4. Tape
Cover one of the bowls with the mesh bag. Tape it on the sides of the bowl. Encourage the toddler to transfer the beans from the another bowl to the covered bowl one at a time using the hand.
Note : This was an unplanned activity. When my toddler was not interested in another planned activity, I did it in seconds. It was not very pretty but my toddler did not mind it!
After dropping few beans, she was trying whether she could take out the beans through the holes.
She tried transferring directly from the bowl but soon found out that most of the beans would spill because of the net.
When she found out that it was possible to pour the beans from the glass to the bowl with the net intact, it became easy for her to repeat the activity.
It is an easy to setup simple activity. But my toddler learnt fine motor skill, hand eye coordination, tripod gasp and cause&effect.

Nice activity to come up with on the fly. I love to watch my girls as they try different methods to achieve the goal. Found you on We Love Weekends of P if for Preschooler
Clever! I think my little girl would enjoy this. She’s all about food play.
I love all the experimenting she did, trying to take the beans back out, trying to pour them – lots of learning going on here!
