My grandma is very crafty and she was the one who introduced me to paper crafts, crochet, origami etc during my summer vacations. I forgot almost all of them :-(. I remember this simple flower procedure as I have used them for many decorations.
Materials needed :
1. Construction paper – White would have been perfect but daughter wanted purple
2. Glue – We used glue stick
3. Stapler
Method :
1. Cut the paper into strips. Our strips were about 1/2 inch wide each and around 18 of them. If the strips are uniform, the flower will be more symmetrical. But our strips were not perfect.
2. Arrange the strips one after the other. Staple at the middle.
3. Starting at one end of the strips, bring the first strip to its own middle. It will be like a petal. Glue the strip at its center. Gluing was little tricky for my daughter as the glue was not dried properly, the petals were popping out once in a while. Next time, I will try stapling the strips.
4. Repeat the same for all strips. When you bring the last strip to its center, the flower is done. We cut out an 1/2 inch circle from a yellow paint chip and pasted it on the middle of the flower.
It is a very simple to do procedure. I just gave the instructions and my daughter did everything from scratch.

Cute! Saved this one for later on Pinterest. 😉 My mom pinned a bunch of neat tissue paper flowers on her Pinterest recently…but they looked WAY too complicated. I like this idea much better! lol Thanks for sharing on the For the Kids Friday link-up!
