After we made our corn husk dolls, I was looking for opportunities to use the corn husks. On a sunny afternoon, we made a corn husk sun. It took us 10 minutes to set up and make.
Materials needed:
1. Paper plate
2. Corn husks
3. Tempera paint
4. Paint brush
5. Hot glue gun
Method:
1. Cut and remove the trim of the paper plate
2. Paint with the yellow tempera paint on the remaining circle
3. Let the paper plate circle dry
4. Glue the husks at the back side of the paper plate with the hot glue gun
We tried with tacky glue but the husks were not sticking. So changed to hot glue gun.
It is a very simple project. If a kid knows to use the hot glue gun, then the kid can do this craft very easily.
