We are doing a lot of alphabets activities to keep my preschooler’s alphabet interest satisfied. She sees alphabets in every thing. Whenever we say a word, she tries to find out the letters in the word. She tries to read the title of her sister’s book. It is great to see her interest towards letters. We made this alphabet necklace, a simple alphabet learning activity, that she enjoyed thoroughly.
Materials needed: (affiliation links are used)
1. Paper clips
2. Masking tape
Preparation:
1. Cut out a small piece of masking tape and attach it to one side of the paper clips.
2. Write the alphabets in the attached tape with sharpie.
How to play:
There is no rule to play. Ask the preschooler to pick a clip, call out the letters written on it. Attach the paper clips together to make a necklace.
My preschooler wanted to attach the paper clips in the alphabetical order. She needed help to attach the paper clips sometimes. But she was determined to finish the necklace. She was proudly wearing the necklace she had made!
This is a very simple alphabet activity that gives work to her fine motor skills too. Bonus!
More alphabets activities for inspiration!
What a creative idea! I love how this uses fine motor as well as language skills. Pinning!
